One of the hidden gems at RAFW this year—exhibiting off the runway at the Museum of Contemporary Art—Song For The Mute is an exciting new label that promises a fresh perspective for men.

And by new we mean brand spanking…AW10 marks the label’s entree to the market. Earthy tones and textures (especially in the forthcoming SS10-11 shown at RAFW) are punctuated with raw finishes and asymmetrical detail. Many of these finishes came about by accident during the construction and were ultimately retained for production. “The imperfections give character,” Melvin Tanaya told me at RAFW.
