LIFEwithBIRD combines relaxed cuts and classic silhouettes given a kooky twist with asymmetrical detailing. The label’s aesthetic balancing act continues with fluid jerseys highlighted by contrasting detail. A largely restrained colour story—black, greys and nudes—gets a jolt from acid red and textured print. Bridget McCall and Nicolas van Messner’s simple separates and versatile basics are served up with leather bags and printed scarves.

Van Messner tells HowBigIsYourEco that eco-ethicalprinciples “should be inherent with all businesses”. To that end, LIFEwithBIRD’s use of sustainable textiles grows as they become more accessible, accounting for about a third of the range. Production is split between Australia and offshore points (where they distribute locally to reduce their footprint), packaging is recyclable and their internal paper trail has been slashed by 80%. Ambassadors for the Childhood Foundation, the pair also support The Cancer Council, Youth Off The Streets and Unicef. Van Messner says their internship program with RMIT university “has been great for both us and the students”.
