“Nature is the most dominant force of all” – Hippocrates.
Truer words were never spoken (and by Hippocrates no less) and this is at the forefront of Apivita’s natural philosophy. Greece is proving itself to be something of a hot bed of organic talent, with Korres and Apivita (started in 1979) becoming renowned throughout the world for their beautiful, luxurious and innovative organic products.
After reading about the brand’s men’s line on HowBigIsYourEco, I had to see for myself how natural and effective their products—using pure bee products and titrated plant extracts from the naturally rich Greek flora and essential oils—really were.
Like most of the organic products that I’ve been trying I’ve been very impressed at the lightweight yet luxurious feel they have, and the way they penetrate the skin. There’s none of that granola feel or smell to any of the brands that I’ve been exploring this year. Apivita is no exception. The Aqua Vita cream is a delicious treat for dry skin, using chaste tree and organic almond oil, oats and organic olive polyphenols. I also like the Queen Bee Exfoliating and Rejuvenating cream as it uses royal jelly and gently exfoliates the skin, without leaving it feeling dry and taut like some other exfoliants.
Apivita pride themselves on being paraben-free, and their bee farms produce bee products that are free of pesticides, antibiotics and chemical residues. They established their own bee farm in Greece in 2004 in order to ensure the integrity of their product (which has now grown to be about 150 hives) and they harvest less than 40% of the bees’ total production and ensure it is treated only with essential oils and plant extracts.
They don’t test on animals and their packaging is designed to use the highest percentage of recycled ingredients. Apivita products are both re-usable and renewable.
Now it is sold not only in Greece but everywhere from New York to Los Angeles, Madrid to London, Tokyo to Sydney.
Apivita is available in Australia at Myer, and for more information please visit their website.
