Morrison
Care Factor Factory Factor

Effortless elegance is at the heart of Morrison, the label lead by husband and wife team Kylie Radford and Richard Poulson since 2002. Named after the couple’s dearly-departed kelpie cross, the label consistently turns out season-straddling separates designed to work in harmony with each other. Wearability and comfort are hallmarks of the Morrison ethos, characterised by the loose silhouettes and neutral colour story of the Resort 2010-11 collection. Embroidered detail brings a vintage feel to crisp cottons and linens. To suit the season, tailoring is relaxed.

Morrison works closely manufacturers, making 95% or their collection in Australia, the bulk of this in Perth. The pair are currently rolling out new-look stores across the country where they are seeking to use recycled and reclaimed pieces where possible—from floorboards sourced from decommissioned Fremantle wharves to vintage hooks. And they are planning to build on this in the near future. “We are currently investigating ways to implement sustainable strategies and practices across our business,” they tell HowBigIsYourEco. “Part of our current investigations is into sustainable/recycled merchandise.”

Morrison provides ongoing support to Look Good, Feel Better and has a unique program where each month a team member selects a charity and workmates are encouraged to make donations, volunteer or otherwise engage with. The company also participates in workplace placement programs for underprivileged people.
