Redemption is coming… Morrison today revealed their SS10-11 collection to media at an intimate luncheon in Sydney (above). Called Redemption, it’s due in boutiques from July.
The eclectic and ornate setting was the perfect foil to Morrison’s understated chic. Key details included digital print, laser cut finish (on basic tees) and knotted texture, but the big news was the reveal of Morrison’s first-ever resort collection, debuting in November. Crisp, white cottons and linens with embroidered detail lend a vintage feel to the range, relaxed tailoring adds a little laid-back polish.
Perth-based designer Kylie Radford was in town playing host and also let slip that a new store is on the very near horizon—although she couldn’t be drawn on details just yet. Not without attracting the wrath of the label’s communcations boss Anthony Whittle, at least. Morrison recently opened a store in the gorgeous Strand Arcade which Kylie told me she was excited to visit whilst here.
Meanwhile, special mention to the EDIT showroom/gallery which housed the launch. Founder Sharyn Storrier Lyneham is a former Vogue Living editor who has amassed a covetable collection of reclaimed, and often re-worked, furniture and homewares. Chairs are recovered in beautiful, original prints or, in the case of vintage glassware, given some friends and a whole new purpose in life. EDIT is upcycling at its most glamorous…
