Injecting your wardrobe with individuality is one way to assert a bit of personal style… and if it’s one-of-a-kind, all the better. Thumbs up, then, to One Teaspoon’s salvage denim range (not to be confused with selvedge denim, trainspotters). Recycling and re-cutting old denim from around the world, the label breathes new life into old fabric.
The aged look comes gratis, thanks to the pre-loved, pre-worn state of the denim. No washes and colour treatments have been inflicted on the pieces (not this time around, at least), but the label does add their own distressing and embellishment to garments. The collection includes shorts, skirts and, of course, jeans all for around the $150 mark. Just hope that there’s a colour that grabs you in your size because these babies are one-offs.
One Teaspoon launched the salvage collection for AW09 and already the re-hashed pieces make up around 30% of their entire denim range.
We’re all for a spot of recycling—and any excuse to run images of the divine Emma Balfour. Two birds in one (teaspoon), then.
