The Social Studio is expanding—albeit temporarily—to bring the work of their collective of refugee designers to the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.
Until September, The Social Studio will be in residence on the Level 1 bridge at Melbourne Central Shopping Centre in Lonsdale Street. The group’s first pop-up shop will showcase the collections and host workshops and special events plus offer retail training to the crew.
As mentioned here previously, The Social Studio’s Collingwood HQ incorporates a design studio, store and café, each drawing on the skills of refugees while providing them with industry qualifications and retail experience.
Those outside Melbourne needn’t fret as The Social Studio has also just launched an online store.
