This ace knuckle duster ring designed by Aje is one of six pieces from Sportsgirl’s 2010 Give Hope collection, on sale from today. This week is National Body Image and Eating Disorders Week and every year the high street fashion chain releases a capsule range of accessories to raise funds for the Butterfly Foundation.
The charity works to prevent and treat such diseases as well as offer support to sufferers and their families. Give Hope goes towards the organisation’s phone and online counselling service. So far, Sportsgirl has raked in $830,000 for the charity and is aiming to hit the million mark this year.
To make it happen, talent from the Sportsgirl’s Like designer ranges have come up with a bunch of nifty wares (pictured below)—the aforementioned ring, necklace (Alpha60), purse (Kym Ellery), tote bag (The Cassette Society), journal (Arnsdorf) and charm bracelet (Rachel Gilbert).
Plus, each designer has whipped up a shade of nail polish as part of the range. Give Hope is available at all Sportsgirl stores throughout September.
And should you or anyone you know ever need advice or support for an eating disorder, please get in touch with the Butterfly Foundation by calling 1800 ED HOPE or email support@thebutterflyfoundation.org.au.
